Welcome on board before noon.

• From now on, you have time.

• The boat departs downstream of the Hậu river. Lunch on board while en route.
• By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit in the green on an island.
• Boarding back, rest on the deck or around the bar enjoying the sunset or join the open art atelier. Dinner is served while the Bassac is cruising towards her anchoring point for the night.

Second day, the wilderness

• Wake at your leisure. We have yoga mats for the early risers to do a sweet Sun Salutation on the deck before breakfast.²⁾
• Take the time to discover the boat.
• You are invited to join a visit in the green to a small canal, then opt for a lunch on board, or on shore at the inhabitants, and resume the cruise.

• As the heat of the afternoon begins to wane, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit on shore: past the first tree line lies the peaceful life in the delta's countryside, its rice fields, fruit trees and welcoming inhabitants. You may opt to visit on foot or bicycle.

• Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board.
• As the Bassac lits up for the evening, join us if you like to make bread off the Bassac's strand of sourdough –make the dough, shape it, and the baker on board will bake it for tomorrow's breakfast.
• Dinner is served on the deck as the Bassac strolls to its anchoring point for the night.

Third day, a glimpse of the Khmer world

• Wake at your leisure. Breakfast will be served on the aft deck at your pace.
• The Bassac sets sail upstream towards Cần Thơ, while the ateliers are available, for you to put the final touches on your production if needed.
• Arrival in Cần Thơ, transfer onto a local boat to visit the a visit a Khmer Theravada pagoda then return to the Ninh Kieu pier.

Please note you will leave the Bassac for good upon boarding the small boat for the last visit, typically about 8:30. The program and visits may vary depending on logistics, tide, weather or other conditions.

End of our services on shore in Cần Thơ by the mid-morning, 10:30 on the day after next.

The day begins with an opportunity for some yoga and meditation.

Throughout the day, you are invited to take a brush and colors and sit at an easel, or some clay to model into an object of your own.

In the evening, we shall share, prepare and knead sourdough from the board.

Seize the occasion to feel the connection with nature and with your inner self.

Relieve stress and expand your connection to the natural surroundings for 45 minutes with a foot massage then a head and shoulders massage. The massage is performed on the deck, with refined essential oils.

We have limited availability –be sure to book ahead.

Bassac II is a classic boat entirely built of wood from the region according to the Mekong delta's traditions, with amendments where safety standards require.

With two wide covered decks, a lounge and wide gangways, Bassac II offers numerous places to make your own, and provides everyone with some level of intimacy.

Your cabin offers the comfort you should expect of a hotel room in a small, cozy wooden cabin. En suite and air-con are de rigueur, and access to outside is immediate. Through your window: the Mekong.

The galley on board is fit to cater to the tastes of all, and allowing us to offer freshly cooked and baked meals all the time –try our bread and croissants in the morning.

Inclusions, exclusions

As a rule of thumb, we take care of you from boarding to disembarkation. You may also ask us to provide you with other services, like road transfer, we can help.

The Retreat includes:

• Transportation on board;
• Accommodation full board of each passenger in a twin-share cabin, double- or twin-bedded;
• English-speaking host on board and during the visits;
• Vietnamese coffee, tea; mineral water;
• One visit on shore or on a small skiff per half-day;
• Access to and from the board on a longboat;

The Wellness Experience includes:

• foot massage
• head and shoulder massage

Are excluded:

• Road, speedboat transfer, except if specifically mentioned in the booking confirmation;
• Bar services;
• Personal travel insurance;
